I enjoy writing regularly for Texas Highways; my article on Texas drag racing was published in the March 2008 issue.  My "Postcards" article on the historic Battleship TEXAS (September 2009 issue) isn't online yet, but here is a snippet from my January 2010 Forbidden Gardens piece.

Here's my first piece for the magazine, about my local donut joint that's been serving 'em up hot since the 1920's: Round Rock Donuts: The Hole Story

My second article covered a great central Texas honky-tonk, the Old Coupland Inn and Dancehall, where you can eat, sleep and boot-scoot.

I never used to pay much attention to sports, but then I found college basketball, and the Madness began.

Here's my Gainesville Sun Op-Ed piece about The Dance:

When is a restaurant an icon? Should it be saved from the development wrecking ball if it is?

Here are my thoughts about Austin's Las Manitas Avenue Cafe for CHOW magazine:

If you are interested in unique cooking vacations around the world, I wrote a short piece about them for CHOW:

Pack Your Knives and Go.

Here's the video I shot at South by Southwest Interactive's Screen Burn video gaming event, to accompany the Brazen Careerist article about the Frag Dolls.

I almost hate to admit how much fun I had researching and writing this piece for Brazen Careerist, a career center for Generation Y.

It's about the Frag Dolls, an all-female video gaming team:

As a music buff, it was a pleasure to write a series of concert preview articles for the Gainesville Sun entertainment section, "Scene Magazine."

In the June 2006 issue of Gainesville Magazine, I wrote a personal essay about my mid-life career change from seagoing Navy officer to freelance writer.
