It’s all in your mind!
After messing around with blogs and social media since early 2006 – a mere newbie to many of my geek friends – I had a major lightbulb moment while talking marketing and sales with my local SBDC (Small Business Development Center) expert.
He pointed out that for a social media training business like Tourism Currents, “Real change only happens for your customers when they change their behavior as a result of your training and coaching.”
Aaaaaahhhhh.
It’s not enough to decide that it’s important.
It’s not enough to learn about it.
It’s not enough to say, “Oh, NOW I get it!”
Those who are successful with social media have two things….
1) A mindset. They are always thinking, “How can I tell this story in a way that works online?”
2) Certain behaviors. They see stories and social media content almost everywhere they look, and they have the desire and the know-how to share it.
What do you think? Am I onto something?
